Liz graduated from Leeds University in 1998, trained as a GP in Buckinghamshire and now divides her time between being a salaried GP in West Wiltshire, and a speciality doctor in palliative medicine at Prospect Hospice, near Swindon. She started her interest in hospice work as a volunteer assistant when she was a sixth former. She has recently completed an MSc in Palliative Medicine through the University of Newcastle, including a dissertation in the use of virtual reality to help hospice patients’ symptoms.
Work-life balance is achieved with canal boating, knitting and Morris dancing, and being mum to two teenagers.
